Publication Scheme
Langley Hall Primary Academy is registered with the ICO and the registration number is Z2710373.
A publication scheme is a requirement of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. The Act promotes greater openness and accountability across the public sector by requiring schools to make information available proactively, through a publication scheme.
Langley Hall will follow the model Publication Scheme produced by the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) Publication Scheme Version 1.2 20151023 https://ico.org.uk/media2/migrated/1153/model-publication-scheme.pdf without modification. The publication scheme is a guide to the information we make available to the public as part of our normal business activities as a school. The information covered is included in the following categories:
- Who we are and what we do
- What we spend and how we spend it
- What our priorities are and how we are doing
- How we make decisions
- Policies and procedures
- Lists and registers
- The services we offer
The scheme is not a list of actual publications, as these will change when new materials are published, or when existing material is revised. It is however, the school’s commitment to make available the information described. A publication scheme must set out the categories of information published making clear how the information described can be accessed and whether or not charges will be made.
Accessing information covered by the publication scheme
To request information available through our publication scheme, please email info@lhpa.co.uk for the attention of the Data Protection Officer (who is the Freedom of Information Officer), clearly stating that you are making a Freedom of Information Request or write to the Data Protection Officer (who is the Freedom of Information Officer), Langley Hall Primary Academy, Station Road, Langley Berkshire, SL3 8GW.

What is not covered by the publication scheme?
From 1 January 2005 you have the right under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, to request any information held by a public authority, which it has not already made available through its publication scheme. Requests should be made in writing and the school will have 20 school days to respond. A fee may be charged, which will be calculated according to The Freedom of Information and Data Protection (Appropriate Limit and Fees) Regulation 2004 SI 2004 No 3244, otherwise called the Fees Regulations specified by the ICO https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/foi/freedom-of-information-and-environmental-information-regulations/section-12-requests-where-the-cost-of-compliance-exceeds-the-appropriate-limit/. We are not required to release information to which an exemption in the Act legitimately applies. Public authorities may be required to explain to the applicant why they are not releasing information, and they may also have to justify this to the Information Commissioner.
